Dr. Avinash B – Consultant Gastroenterologist in Bengaluru

Dr. Avinash B is the Chief of Medical Gastroenterology and Hepatology at MS Ramaiah Memorial Hospitals, Bengaluru. He holds MD, DNB and DM in Gastroenterology and has more than 15 years of experience in Gastroenterology.

Dr. Avinash completed his MBBS from Kurnool Medical College, Kurnool, followed by MD and DNB in General Medicine from Sri Venkateshwara Medical College, Tirupati. He subsequently completed his DM in Gastroenterology from Christian Medical College, Vellore.

His major areas of clinical expertise include biliary tract diseases, pancreatic diseases and inflammatory bowel diseases. He has extensive experience in advanced gastrointestinal endoscopy and therapeutic procedures.

Dr. Avinash has performed more than 20,000 endoscopies, 10,000 colonoscopies, 5,000 ERCPs and 1,000 endoscopic ultrasound procedures. His special interests include ERCP and EUS.

He underwent specialized training in endosonography in Denmark under Dr. Peter Vilmann. He is also the coordinator for the Advanced Endoscopic Fellowship in ERCP and EUS at MS Ramaiah Memorial Hospitals.

He received the Train the Trainer Award from the World Gastroenterology Organisation in 2018 and the Asian Endoscopic Ultrasound Group Award in 2020. He is also associated with several professional gastroenterology and hepatology organisations.

Dr. Avinash is actively involved in academic activities and serves as faculty at national and international Gastroenterology conferences. He has also contributed to advanced endoscopic procedures and research in the field.
