Dr. K. M. Suryanarayana – Consultant Endocrinologist in Bengaluru

Dr. K. M. Suryanarayana is a Consultant Endocrinologist and Honorary Professor with 30 years of experience in the field of Endocrinology. He completed his medical graduation from Mysore Medical College in 1974.

He subsequently obtained his MD in Medicine from Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune, where he was awarded a gold medal, followed by DM in Endocrinology from PGIMER, Chandigarh.

Dr. K. M. Suryanarayana has served as Professor and Head of Medicine and Endocrinology at Command Hospital (Air Force), Bengaluru, and as Professor and Head of Endocrinology at Army Hospital (R&R), New Delhi and MS Ramaiah Medical College.

He has a strong academic and research background and has served as a guide and University Examiner for MD and DM students. He has also participated in AFMRC and ICMR research projects and has contributed to medical publications, including chapters in textbooks.

During his distinguished 37-year career in the Army Medical Corps, Dr. Suryanarayana had the privilege of serving as Physician to the President of India from 2003 to 2005. He later retired as Director General Medical Services (Navy) in the rank of Vice Admiral.

His professional achievements include the Vishist Seva Medal, the Karnataka Endocrine Society Lifetime Achievement Award for contribution to Endocrinology, and prestigious professional orations. He currently serves as President of the Karnataka Endocrine Society.
