Dr. Kiran Chandra Patro is a senior consultant Nephrologist at Bangalore, NU Hospitals. He did his schooling from National Public school, Rajajinagar, after which, he completed his MBBS from well-known JJM Medical College, Davangere. After completing his MBBS, he went on to do his post-graduation in General Medicine followed by super specialty in Nephrology. He has been associated with the field of Nephrology since 2005. He worked as consultant Nephrologist initially at Bhimavaram hospitals and since 2009 has been associated with NU Hospitals as full-time Nephrologist. He is very academic, follows the protocol based practice and is very methodical in his approach. He is also associated with critical care nephrology and management of various emergencies. He is involved with teaching Nephrology fellows and dialysis technicians. He ensures protocol based medical practice through the institute. He is a strict disciplinarian.

He has presented various papers and most papers have been awarded. He has published in various well-known peer-reviewed journals and authored chapters in books.He deals regularly with complicated hypertension, diabetic kidney diseases, glomerular diseases, proteinuria, microscopic hematuria, reversible and irreversible renal failures, renal biopsies, ABO incompatible and ABO-compatible renal transplantations and chronic tubular diseases.

He is mainly interested in educating the general public regarding renal disease and is associated with various media presentations and interactions.
